500-year-old Thornbury Castle allows you to retrace the steps of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, as you walk along corridors and through grounds that they once explored.
Thornbury is the only Tudor castle to be open as a hotel, allowing guests to enjoy the splendour of the castle’s roaring fires, delicious cuisine and magnificent bedchambers.
The property is located in South-west England, close to the historic city of Bath, and is easy to reach from all of England’s major cities, including London. From London, take the 90-minute train ride to Bristol, followed by a 30-minute taxi journey to the castle, or drive directly in approximately 2 hours.

- Arrive at leisure and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in one of the inviting lounges by a cosy fire;
- Take the opportunity to relax with a board game, or explore the enchanting castle grounds;
- In the evening, a three-course dinner will be served in the restaurant, then mingle with fellow guests, unwind by the fire, or retire to your fabulous bedchamber to relax.
New Year's Eve
- A leisurely breakfast will be served in the restaurant, allowing you time to soak up the atmosphere in anticipation of the big celebrations ahead;
- Wrap up and step out to the castle lawns for a fabulous falconry display, a tradition once enjoyed by royalty. Witness the majesty of these birds of prey in action and, for those who wish, enjoy the optional handling experience, adding a hands-on element to this regal event;
- Join the team for a glamorous black-tie drinks' reception with Champagne and canapés, followed by a decadent five-course Gala dinner served in the cosy dining area by candlelight;
- After dinner, make your way across the courtyard to the Tudor Hall to enjoy post-dinner coffee and petits-fours;
- The evening will unfold with a fabulous four-piece band and a DJ, setting the tone for a celebration to remember! Dance the night away to your favourite tunes;
- As you count down to 2026, a traditional Piper will lead the way outdoors for a breath-taking firework display, lighting up the sky as you welcome in the New Year. As the music draws to a close, retire to your room for a peaceful night's rest, reflecting on an unforgettable celebration.
