A marriage can be celebrated in a variety of ways at our castles, including civil ceremonies, religious ceremonies, secular ceremonies, blessings, or even a traditional “hand-fasting” ceremony - all tailored to your personalised requirements.
Pricing depends on your individual requirements, guest numbers, and which castle you choose, however, packages start from as little as £1,450. Enquire with one of our wedding experts; tell us what budget you are working within and we will help you choose the perfect property for you.
Every one of our castles is different and what is offered will vary from property to property. Wedding packages can usually be tailored to your specific requirements, but in most cases, prices will include room hire, accommodation and there will often be a selection of food and drinks packages available. Some properties are sold on a self-catered basis, where food and drink will be provided by a third party. In this instance, the castles will often have a list of recommended vendors with whom we can put you in touch. These will be priced individually, depending on your requirements.
Our team of wedding experts can assist you in hosting a variety of different celebrations, including same-sex marriages.
Registrar fees are not included. We will put you in touch with your chosen castle’s local registrar and any fees due will be paid directly to them.
Prices vary depending on the location of the venue and can change depending on the day of the week and the time of day that you choose to marry, however, prices usually range from £400 - £600.
Couples usually find the easiest option is to hold a small ceremony at home to formalise the legalities of the partnership, leaving you to focus on your castle wedding ceremony as an opportunity to celebrate with friends and family. If you do wish to have a legal ceremony at one of our properties, we advise contacting the local registry office for further information, as requirements can vary depending on where you are located. Our wedding experts will be happy to put you in touch with the correct person.
To obtain a licence to marry in one of our properties, the registrar will usually require between three months and 29 days’ notice, prior to the ceremony, however, this may vary if you are travelling from overseas.
The registry office closest to your chosen castle is best positioned to answer questions regarding legalities and advise on the steps you need to take. Our wedding experts can provide you with the contact details of the local registrar for each of our castles.
Transport is not usually included, but your personal wedding coordinator at the property will be happy to help plan transportation for you and your guests.
Some of our properties allow the use of external caterers, however, contact us to discuss your requirements and we’ll advise accordingly.
We have properties to cater for an intimate ceremony for just the wedding couple, up to large marquee weddings for several hundred guests. Contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
Our team of wedding experts is available 7 days a week; we are always more than happy to discuss your options over the phone, or via a video call. Please get in touch to arrange this.
You can certainly arrange a wedding visit at any of our castle properties, where you will be welcome to look around the venue and meet with a wedding coordinator to discuss your requirements face-to-face. Contact our wedding experts to book your visit(s).
The majority of our castles allow virtual wedding visits, where you can hold a video call to “virtually” meet the wedding team and have them answer any questions you may have while they take you on a tour of the castle.
An elopement is a small wedding for just the wedding couple, who will usually celebrate their wedding together, without any additional guests. However, some packages also welcome small numbers of family and friends to celebrate alongside you.
The phrase "wedding breakfast" is frequently used and can occasionally confuse people. It isn’t the meal you eat on the morning of your wedding, but instead refers to the first meal a married couple has together, which is typically served after your ceremony.
Our team can certainly help you arrange your honeymoon in a castle. Take a look at our honeymoon suggestions for some inspiration! Perhaps you may even be interested in a honeymoon castle tour?
Celtic Castles doesn’t offer a gift list as such, but Celtic Castles Gift Vouchers are very popular amongst our wedding couples for guests to purchase. The wedding couple can then put these towards perhaps a honeymoon in a castle or future anniversary stay.
