At Christmas, the castle is transformed into a festive hideaway. Plump armchairs nestle against tables laden with walnuts and oranges; rooms are illuminated by spectacular Christmas trees and sparkling decorations. Christmas is all about coming together and having fun, which is why at Bovey Castle there is a range of festive activities for everyone to get involved in.

What it Includes...
Christmas Eve
- Arrive at Bovey Castle for afternoon tea;
- Activities will be available all day;
- Your evening includes welcome drinks and canapés, followed by a five-course dinner whilst listening to the castle's pianist.
Christmas Day
- Enjoy breakfast, while Father Christmas gives out gifts to the younger guests;
- Spend the morning, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate by trying out the brass rubbing trail;
- The revelry begins with a Champagne and canapé reception, followed by a fabulous five-course Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western Grill accompanied by the soothing music of a harpist;
- It wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech, and this will be shown in the lounges with tea and mince pies;
- An informal buffet dinner will be served in the evening.
Boxing Day
- After breakfast, sign up for the golf tournament, or take part in a treasure hunt around the castle and grounds;
- In the afternoon, the castle's much-loved ferret racing is a firm favourite, as is the ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, with a serving of hot chocolate or mulled wine;
- Family activities are available all day;
- A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will also be served in one of the lounges throughout the afternoon, accompanied by live entertainment;
- A high tea will be available for any young children;
- Finish your day with a cocktail reception and six-course dinner in the Great Western Grill (dress code – cocktail dresses and lounge suits) accompanied by the resident pianist, then later try your hand with fun at the casino!
27 December
- Enjoy a full English breakfast before fond farewells.
