From the first moment you enter this magnificent estate, it will truly feel like your own; from the charming details hinting at a peaceful and joyful family home to the care and thoughtful decoration of each room’s interior, to the way in which every square metre, both inside and out, has been given meaning and attention. Enjoy the unique splendour of each space; from refined wood panelling to intricately sculpted cornicing, to the stunningly-framed ceiling oil painting!
Drawing Room
Adjacent to the Sun Room, and with French windows to the rear lawn, this light-filled room makes for a comfortable setting.
Dining Room
This room, richly decorated in red with gold and cream cornicing, delicate chandeliers and gilded portraits, is adorned in rich reds with beautiful gold and cream cornicing, delicate chandeliers and gilded portraits. The long traditional wooden table (seating 22 guests) takes centre stage and its position in front of the long Georgian windows lets guests enjoy garden views over dinner. There is space for an additional table.
Sun Room
Beautifully crafted and featuring long skylights and floor-to-ceiling Georgian style windows, this modern extension allows in an abundance of natural light, at any time of year. It is the perfect space for elegant celebrations.
Lounge
Adjacent to the above, this forest-green painted room features brown leather furnishings amongst dark woodwork (a theme throughout the rooms), giving it an intimate, old-fashioned lounge atmosphere.

Self-Catering Kitchen
A classic country style, this flexible social space is conveniently laid out and features an aga, a kitchen island and a large dining table in front of huge windows overlooking the grounds. With hanging pots and pans and original wooden floors, it’s a characterful, nostalgic space for preparing food and dining together.
The Coach House
This renovated space offers an ideal setting for a celebratory dinner, lunch or breakfast. With its spacious layout and additional extension, it can be configured for a Champagne reception, a sit-down dinner for up to 160 guests or transformed into a dance floor for your evening event.
The Walled Garden
This picturesque setting is ideal for outdoor events, offering a stunning backdrop for summer parties, alfresco dining or a garden cocktail reception. Surrounded by lush greenery and historic walls, it provides a peaceful and private setting for your event.
The Granary
Dating back to the 1700s and with its rustic charm and chapel-like ambiance, this is a distinctive space ideal for both daytime and evening events. Whether you're hosting a relaxed gathering or a lively ceilidh, it offers a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for any celebration. Take advantage of the air flow system (for those warmer dancing nights), soundproofing and the stone fire pit.
Accommodation
Newhall House itself features accommodation for 29 people, and up to 40 guests in total can stay on the estate. Styled in neutral and pastel shades, many of the rooms are drenched in natural light and are furnished with top-quality antiques, from wardrobes to dressing tables, to four-poster beds. Each boasts its own character and charm with the room name telling a story and giving a nod to the estate’s history and provenance.
Gardens/Estate
The parkland is rich with mature trees and offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside whilst the grounds are carefully maintained, featuring formal gardens and manicured lawns, reflecting the grandeur and elegance of the house itself.
Newhall Estate is home to a collection of natural features, from waterfalls and caves to the pond and surrounding scenic woodland. The estate is also rich in wildlife, including a couple of beautiful Highland cows, adding to its rustic charm. The exquisite gardens, originally built in 1796, are still lovingly tended to by the family. Each season brings a new character to the grounds, offering a fresh perspective to explore and appreciate both nature and wildlife.
The grounds of the estate are preserved in history as home to the Glen Walk that was mentioned extensively in the famous Scottish poem, The Gentle Shepherd, while the North Esk Reservoir is a peaceful place for waterside picnics or fishing.

History
The first recorded dwelling at Newhall is believed to have been an abbey or monastery established by Cistercian monks nearly 1,000 years ago, laying the foundation for its rich history.
Prices
Exclusive hire (sleeping 29 guests) starts at £5000 per night on an accommodation-only basis. Catering and further accommodation (if required) can be quoted for separately. A minimum 2-night stay is required for all bookings.
