The original castle door, encased in a stone archway of the majestic 14th-century architecture, makes for a dramatic entrance into the romantic interiors and, once inside, you can gaze over serene private parkland through ornately framed mullioned windows. Beautifully-carved antique furniture cushioned in tactile fabrics create a stately and inviting setting, whilst modern comforts offer a contemporary flair that complement a fascinating heritage.

This historic building offers a wedding experience in an authentic castle perfect for a small wedding or elopement. The high castle ramparts make for a fabulous wedding photo opportunity with their far-reaching views over the lush Northumbrian countryside. Spiral staircases, shining suits of armour and sparkling chandeliers add further historic charm and will capture imaginations by the moment.

Your ceremony

Langley Castle can be tailored to your ideas and requirements, from a traditional 'white wedding' to a marquee/teepee wedding; from a woodland wedding to a personally-crafted bespoke theme (for example a Game of Thrones-style wedding).

You can exchange your vows in the magnificent Drawing Room (seating up to 22 guests) where sunshine fills the space in summer and a crackling fire beckons in winter, or, for a larger wedding, the characterful Josephine Room is ideal. For an outdoor alternative, your guests can be seated aside a long white aisle in the delightful walled garden with the backdrop of the castle façade framed by ancient trees.

Take time to explore

After your reception drinks, take your first romantic stroll together as a married couple through the castle grounds and you may even catch a glimpse of the estate’s charming wildlife, from wild rabbits to the stunning resident peacocks! Picturesque photo opportunities are formed by the low-hedge maze and the aesthetically pleasing row of topiary trees of bright green that offsets the sandy-toned stone of the castle.

Your wedding reception and celebrations

Indulge in a regally-styled wedding breakfast, celebrating with your guests in the Josephine Room, which can host 120 for a sit-down meal and 150 for a wedding reception.

Dedicated to making this your most special day, bespoke menus combine freshly-picked seasonal produce from the castle garden with local delectable meats and fish; the head chef would carefully plan and prepare your choice of dishes. Imagine grand-table settings of fine porcelain, silver and glassware and indulging in creatively-presented food and sipping barrel-aged wine from the castle’s wine cellar!

Accommodation

The castle itself boasts nine individually designed bedrooms, each with a large four-poster bed and many featuring high ceilings, exposed stonework and window seats deeply set into seven-foot thick stone walls! Some bedrooms additionally feature a sauna, spa bath or a fireplace.

Brimming with regal flair, rooms are thoughtfully and traditionally styled with character, and named with historical reference. Each will envelop you and your guests in comforting, atmospheric surroundings.

There are a further 19 bedrooms in the Castle View accommodation, located 100 metres away from the main property within a relaxed, contemporary setting.
