Turreted Laird’s mansion nestled in the heart of Glenshee, surrounded by miles of picturesque Highland wilderness

Dalmunzie Castle is a stunning former Laird’s mansion, turreted in the Scots Baronial style and standing proudly at the head of a 6500-acre estate dating back to 1510. The castle is nestled in the heart of Glenshee and is surrounded by breath-taking mountains, glens and little rivers all a few steps away from the front door. Peace and tranquillity is a feature of life at Dalmunzie, with fires and lounges contributing to a relaxing haven from the outside world.

"It was so calm and so solitary...all seemed to breathe freedom and peace, and to make one forget the world and its sad turmoils."
Queen Victoria’s diary, 1848, en-route to Balmoral via Glenshee

The bedrooms at Dalmunzie Castle are all individual in style, decoration and theme and all enjoy an aspect of the stunning mountain scenery, golf course or surrounding lawns. All bedrooms are located throughout the castle, in the original hunting lodge, oak tower or Victorian & Edwardian wings.

The bedrooms are designed to reflect Dalmunzie’s original purpose as a relaxing retreat for the laird and his family in this beautiful part of Scotland, with no two bedrooms the same. Each bedroom is named after a family/clan, which has played an important part of Dalmunzie’s history over the last 500 years.

William, United KingdomVery homely and comfortable. All members of staff were excellent and did everything that they could to help our stay exceed our expectations. The New Years package was well worth the cost,
Alan, AustraliaOur first experience of a Celtic Castle Hogmanay package. We had a ball at Dalmunzie, who had organised a range of activities and encouraged guest socialisation and gathering. It was under relatively new ownership and the owners did an excellent job. Well located with a range of attractions and walking on your doorstep. Our room was cosy and comfortable rather than grand but did not matter given the range of activities.
Private GuestFabulous stay with such friendly staff and amazing food
Alison, United KingdomStaff were fantastic, beautiful location too, we had a Tower room and it was really nice. The food is incredible, so much choice and beautifully presented. Overall this is a great venue for hogmanay, only negative is, when full, there are not enough sofas and chairs in the lounge, the ceidilh was in the dining room which wasn't that big so chairs lined the room, but everyone had a great time!!
