12th-century abbey tied to royalty and the gunpowder plot

Founded in 1150, Coombe Abbey enjoys a rich and fascinating history with connections to the Gunpowder Plot and many regal guests, including Queen Elizabeth I. Surrounded by a moat and overlooking formal gardens and lake designed by the renowned 18th-century landscape architect ‘Capability Brown’, it boasts a breath-taking backdrop that will not fail to impress.

The hotel is situated in an accessible location in Warwickshire, West Midlands, close to the M6 and M1, with good rail and air links.

Meetings and Events

Coombe Abbey can accommodate residential and day conferences as well as host evening events. The hotel boasts extensive conference and banqueting facilities with 11 varied meeting rooms, 119 bedrooms (sleeping up to 238 guests) and an onsite restaurant. Whether you need a space for an important meeting, to launch a new product, or to hold a conference, Coombe Abbey will impress and inspire your guests.

The historic Abbeygate can accommodate up to 140 delegates, with the elegant Cloisters, High Court and Centre Court able to hold up to 120 each.

There are also several smaller rooms, from the versatile Stuart Room, accommodating up to 60 delegates, down to the Griffin, with its wood-panelled walls, which is ideal for an intimate meeting for up to 8 people.

For the largest of events, you may choose the permanent marquee, set on the East Terrace, which is able to accommodate up to 500 delegates.
