Belle Isle Castle

Situated on the northern tip of Upper Lough Erne, Belle Isle is a 470-acre estate spread over 8 picturesque islands. At the heart of the estate, the 17th-century castle welcomes groups of up to 31 guests looking for a luxury getaway. In addition to the main castle, Belle Isle Estate offers a number of self-catered cottages and apartments, meaning the estate, as a whole, can accommodate up to 95 guests.

The Castle

On an exclusive-use basis, Belle Isle Castle offers 16 unique bedrooms, 12 double, 3 twin and 1 single. Each room possesses fabulous views of Belle Isle estate extending to Lough Erne. The castle has a fully-equipped kitchen for self-catering, or catering can be arranged in-house.

A splendid, double-vaulted entrance hall sets the scene, leading you through to a welcoming drawing room that features a warming fireplace at its heart … the perfect spot to enjoy catching up over your favourite tipple! Floor-to-ceiling windows mean you won’t miss out on a single moment of the very best rustic views you’ll ever see, all from the comfort of your soft, cosy chair. Indeed the castle is full of comfortable spaces to relax.

There are 2 wings which can be booked individually or together. The Hamilton Wing sleeps up to 17 people and consists of 6 double bedrooms, 2 twin rooms and 1 single. The Abercorn Wing sleeps up to 10 people and consists of 5 double bedrooms. The self-contained Butler's Apartment offers an additional double room and twin room, sleeping 4 people. The castle as a whole sleeps up to 31 people and consists of 12 double bedrooms, 3 twin rooms and 1 single.

The Hamilton Wing (sleeps 17)

This luxurious accommodation boasts 9 completely uniquely decorated upstairs bedrooms – 2 of the 6 double bedrooms have four-poster beds with a further 2 twin bedrooms and 1 single bedroom.

The Grand Hall is a spacious and stately drawing room for private dining. There is a fully-equipped kitchen located on the ground floor.

The Abercorn Wing (sleeps 10)

The Abercorn Wing boasts 5 en-suite upstairs bedrooms, including a Master Suite with four-poster bed. All upstairs bedrooms are accessible either by an elevator or a grand staircase. The Stone Hall, Lake Drawing Room and Blue Library, along with a fully-equipped kitchen, are located on the ground floor.

The Butler's Apartment (sleeps 4)

A self-contained apartment with 1 Double and 1 Twin bedroom.

Self-Catering Accommodation

Belle Isle Estate boasts a range of self-catered accommodation which can be booked either individually by small groups and families, or can be used in addition to the castle by larger groups allowing the estate as a whole to accommodate up to 95 guests.

History

Belle Isle has been inhabited since the 12th century. Originally called Ballymacmanus, it was home the MacManus and Maguire families.
