Day 1-2 - Clontarf Castle









Begin your castle tour at Clontarf Castle Hotel, located just 10 minutes from Dublin city centre and 20 minutes from Dublin Airport.
Clontarf Castle was originally a 12th-century keep, it features a striking historic exterior, combined with contemporary interior design. Clontarf Castle Hotel is the perfect base to explore Dublin City Centre and Dublin Bay is just a 5-minute walk from the castle, where you can explore stunning beaches and nature reserves. From Clontarf Castle Hotel you can get to Dublin city centre very easily by bus; the bus stops at the end of the driveway and takes you right to the city centre.
Things to do near Clontarf Castle Hotel:
- St Anne's Park and Rose Gardens.
- Dublin Castle.
- Visit one of Dublin's many distilleries, including Jameson Distillery.
- We recommend a visit to the Irish Emigration Museum, a great day for all the family.

Day 3-4 - Cabra Castle










After a 1 hour 15-minute drive north you arrive at the second stop of your castle tour, Cabra Castle.
Cabra Castle is set on 100 acres of parkland and gardens, with the magnificent backdrop of Dún a Rí Forest Park; there is much to explore, both indoors and outdoors. Cabra Castle is great for families, couples, and solo travellers.
Things to do near Cabra Castle:
- The World Heritage Site of Newgrange, Knowth, and Dowth are approximately 45 minutes away; these ancient temples and passage tombs are over 5,000 years old, older than Stonehenge in England and the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt!
- Visit Drogheda, a historic town, with many Medieval sites of interest, as well as a bustling commercial and shopping centre for the region.
Day 5-6 - Huntington Castle








Last but certainly not least, the third stop of your castle tour is the fabulous Huntington Castle, located 2 hours 15 minutes south of Cabra Castle in County Carlow.
Huntington Castle dates back to 1625 and there is something for all of the family to enjoy! Guests who stay overnight all receive a complimentary tour of the castle and gardens. On the grounds of the castle, there is a 17th-century tea room and gift shop where you can enjoy a coffee and treat from local artisanal bakers plus a woodland playground for children!
Things to do near Huntington Castle:
- Enjoy dinner at Sha-Roe Bistro, winner of Georgina Campbell's Best Chef Award for Ireland, located at the bottom of the front avenue of the castle.
- Carlow is full of breath-taking scenery and is perfect for outdoor adventures, such as hiking, fishing, and biking.
- Enjoy a boat trip along the River Barrow; you can also take part in activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding.
