Wild Atlantic Way - Islands & Lobster Experience from €260 Per Person

Ballynahinch Castle is an intimate 4 star Irish castle hotel set in 350 acres of woodlands, rivers and walks at the heart of Connemara. The castle has a charm and aura which may be best described as 'Casual Country Elegance’, so why not savour the rich ambience that makes Ballynahinch Castle the jewel in the crown of Connemara and a truly unforgettable castle experience?

Enhance your Ballynahinch Castle experience with a half-day guided sea trip.

Enjoy 2 nights' bed and breakfast accommodation in one of the finest 4 star luxury castle hotels in Ireland.

Take a guided boat trip on Roundstone Bay and visit the deserted, picturesque island of Inishlacken with one of the staff of Ballynahinch, John Sullivan; an experienced skipper and lobster fisherman from the nearby island of Inishnee. On your journey you will visit the grey seal colony located in the Ballynahinch estuary, whilst also spotting numerous sea birds such as Terns, Guillemots, Gannets plus other thriving fauna.

The highlight of the trip for most is the visit to Inishlacken, an idyllic island of stone walls, white sandy beaches, nesting sea birds and ruined houses; echoing of a way of life now lost. With a population of nearly 200 residents in 1900, the last islanders departed in the 1980s.

Pull up some lobster pots and fish for mackerel, maybe even returning with your supper! The trip ends back in Roundstone, an ideal spot for lunch or afternoon tea. This is the perfect way to explore the Wild Atlantic Way.

Prices are based on two people sharing a double/twin room on a bed and breakfast basis, inclusive of the half-day sea trip; a third person or children sharing with two adults are subject to additional charges. Maximum of eight passengers on board; the trip is weather dependent.
