New Year Fun at Forter Castle 2017

Surrounded by stunning scenery in Glenisla, Forter Castle was built in 1560 and enjoys a history as rich as the countryside in which it sits. Forter Castle is set within 3 acres of private grounds in the southern Scottish Highlands. Every room provides its own wonderful view of the stunning surrounding landscape. Six individually-designed bedrooms offer accommodation for a maximum of 12 adults, and the magnificent hall, which spans the entire width of the castle, affords guests a truly relaxing experience.

The area surrounding Forter Castle offers not only stunning scenery, but also the opportunity to enjoy the glens: walking, riding, cycling or by whichever means you prefer. The mountains offer both skiing and snowboarding during winter months or, if you prefer, mountain-biking and hiking. For those with a passion for water, rivers, lochs and beaches offer numerous aquatic activities. For the purest of thrill-seekers, activities from paragliding to bungy-jumping can also be found within the locality. You could enjoy a round of golf or a visit to a local distillery - so very traditionally Scottish!

Enjoy a Scottish Christmas at Culzean Castle 2017

Just like a storybook castle, this fantastic example of Robert Adam's genius stands dramatically on a cliff with superb views across the sea to the mountains of the Island of Arran. Culzean is in the heart of Burns country, a central base for visiting the poet's haunts. There are also a number of other National Trust for Scotland properties within easy driving distance of the castle.


The Kennedy family are one of Scotland's oldest families and trace their ancestry back to Robert the Bruce. Culzean Castle was their principal seat from 1759; the castle and its landscape reflecting their status and aspirations. Over the centuries, the Kennedys transformed the Medieval tower house, built to protect its inhabitants during dangerous times, into one of the grandest country houses in Ayrshire.

Like a storybook castle, this fantastic example of Robert Adam's genius stands dramatically on a cliff top, with superb views across the Firth of Clyde to the mountains of the Island of Arran. Culzean Castle is located approximately 50 miles south of Glasgow and Glasgow International Airport, 17 miles from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, and 100 miles from Edinburgh. There are railway stations at Ayr and Maybole.

Celebrate New Year at Corsewall Lighthouse 2017

Corsewell Lighthouse Hotel invests the charm and romance of an 1815, functional lighthouse with the comforts of a small, very unique luxury hotel and restaurant. Celebrate New Year at Ballinlough Castle 2017

If you want to know what it is really like to live in an Irish Castle, head to Ballinlough Castle, one of the very few in Ireland to have belonged to just one family for over 400 years. It is a house of contrasts, the old and the modern, the quality and the quirky. The beautiful grounds include a lake, which offers fishing and swimming, and there are nine golf holes on the property, with the first hole only two minutes from the front door.

Celebrate New Year at Dalhousie Castle 2017

Dalhousie Castle Hotel is steeped in a wealth of history - indeed Queen Victoria and Sir Walter Scott have payed visits. The friendly atmosphere of Dalhousie Castle is created by the very special relationship between the staff, management and guests. With the timeless style of the castle, every stay will be memorable, and many guests return year after year.

TWO NIGHT HOGMANAY BREAK 


Hogmanay

The New Year's Eve celebrations begin with an opportunity to enjoy clay pigeon shooting before a light lunch in the castle. From 2pm the castle have a cocktail masterclass or ceilidh dancing lessons available; choose one or do both, and master a new skill(!) before enjoying a delicious dinner. Welcome the "bells" with the castle's ceilidh band.

The 'Hogmanay Dinner Dance' will begin at 7pm with a drinks' reception, running right through to the wee small hours, before taking part in the Scottish tradition of first footing. 

New Year's Day

New Year's Day starts with a lazy brunch, then enjoy the castle's 'Owls, Myths and Legends' display and learn to play the pipes, followed by afternoon tea.

Your deduction skills are put to the test with a murder mystery buffet dinner in the evening.

Celebrate New Year at Culcreuch Castle 2017

Culcreuch Castle is set in 1,600 acres of wooded parkland, and is considered as romantic a castle as the bonnie banks themselves. The castle provides guests with the perfect base for touring the Trossachs and Highlands, where the legends of Braveheart and Rob Roy took root. The staff at Culcreuch Castle intimately blend the elegance of bygone days with modern comforts and personal service in an atmosphere of friendly informal hospitality.

A free day to explore the area or just relax by the fire with a glass of Eggnog and perhaps some new friends.
Steak pie lunch in the Dungeon Diner and a fun quiz for those who wish to join in.
Candlelit dinner in the castle's AA 2 Rosette restaurant.

Cringletie House is a splendid Victorian baronial mansion, located just south of Edinburgh, and stands proud as the only AA Top 200 Hotel in the Scottish Border region. The hotel has 13 individually designed rooms, each one with its own unique character and furnished to a high standard with views over the grounds and local countryside.
