Bovey Castle Christmas Package 2024

Bovey Castle Castle Hotel is idyllically set in the heart of England's Dartmoor National Park.

At Christmas, the castle is transformed into a festive hideaway. Plump armchairs nestle against tables laden with walnuts and oranges; rooms are illuminated by spectacular Christmas trees and sparkling decorations.

This is a great package for families, with activities, storytelling, and a visit from Father Christmas!

Christmas Eve

Arrive at Bovey Castle for afternoon tea accompanied by carol singing. Activities will be available all day, follow by an early children's high tea in Smith's Brasserie. Your evening includes welcome drinks and a five-course dinner accompanied by the castle's pianist.

Christmas Day

Enjoy breakfast followed by a visit from Father Christmas who will be giving out gifts for younger guests. In the morning, enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate by trying out the brass rubbing trail. The revelry begins with a drinks reception followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western Grill accompanied by a harpist. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech, which will be shown in the lounges with tea and mince pies. An informal buffet dinner will be served in the evening.

Boxing Day

After breakfast, sign up for the golf tournament, join the castle team for a guided walk, or take part in a treasure hunt around the castle and grounds. In the afternoon, the castle's much-loved ferret racing is a firm favourite, as is the ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, served with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Family activities are available all day. A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will also be served in one of the lounges throughout the afternoon, accompanied by some live entertainment. A high tea will be available for any young children. Finish your day with a cocktail reception and five-course dinner in the Great Western Grill (dress code – cocktail dresses and lounge suits) followed by entertainment from the resident jazz trio.

Please note that children under 5 years can not attend the Boxing Day dinner.

*For Lodge bookings - a continental breakfast pack for 3 days will be in the Lodge on arrival (breakfast will not be available in the hotel), dining for dinner on 24 and 26 December and lunch on 25 December will be in the Bovey or Mulberry Rooms. Afternoon tea on 24 and 26 December will be in Smith’s Brasserie.
Additional guests in the Lodges are charged as follows: £1,050 per adult and £450 per child.
