Dining

The kitchens of Ballynahinch Castle, under the careful stewardship of Head Chef Pete Durkan, have been delighting both visitors and local diners for years.

The Owenmore Restaurant offers elegant yet unpretentious dining in a stunning location, using only the finest and freshest ingredients and The Fisherman's Pub with its open log fires, wholesome local produce and friendly personal service is the ideal place to meet the Connemara locals over a pint, or enjoy the catch of the day for dinner.

Owenmore Restaurant

There are few restaurants in Ireland that enjoy views as breath-taking as the Owenmore at Ballynahinch Castle. Overlooking the magnificently appointed terraces above the estate’s Salmon River, the Owenmore Restaurant offers a relaxed elegance that reflects the subtle sophistication Ballynahinch. The head chef and his team extract the very best in flavour and texture from the abundance of wonderful produce the region has to offer. Cooking with a sophisticated and light touch, without over complicating their dishes, the team present the very best in Irish food.

The Fisherman’s Pub

The Fisherman’s Pub at Ballynahinch Castle represents all that is great about Connemara, celebrating authentic local produce in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Seasonally informed dishes are the norm. Wild Atlantic salmon and Killary prawns, delicate fresh fish landed at Rossaveal or slow-cooked pork from the estate's own pigs and organic venison and woodcock; whatever the season dictates Chef and his team capture and present it in this most atmospheric of pubs.

"Ballynahinch Castle was the most amazing place to stay. The employees are so kind, accommodating, and respectful. The food in the pub at night was wonderful and the breakfast was the best I've ever experienced in any hotel! I could not have been happier staying there and will gladly come back when I return to Ireland."
