Mother's Day 2015

Now, one would hope that you take good care of your mum every day of the year, however Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent, so it gives the perfect excuse to spoil your mum. This year it falls on Sunday15th March. Far from the day’s religious beginnings, it is now an occasion for honouring mothers everywhere.

So, now you know the date, all you have to decide is what to treat mum to. As a parent there is something special about staying in a castle with your children, whatever age. Young children find all the hidey-holes and corridors fascinating to explore, looking for magic everywhere, and even for the grown-up children, the surroundings are so relaxing it is a great opportunity to enjoy each other's company and take a moment out from the fast-paced nature of our busy lives.

There are so many castles to choose from, you may wish to treat your mum to a Celtic Castles Gift Voucher, allowing her to choose which castle to visit.

Or alternatively you could choose for her. Depending on your mum’s preferences, we have castles with spas, castles with horse riding on-site, castles with fine dining (to save washing the dishes!) and every other sort of castle imaginable.

If your mum loves to be pampered, Stobo Castle and Dalhousie Castle both offer a spa, where treatments can be booked additionally to complement a castle stay.

For active mums, Castle Leslie has an equestrian centre on-site for a spot of horse riding.

If your mum likes to be treated like a princess, Thornbury Castle has a delightful selection of four-poster beds and fine dining.

For mums who like to be beside the sea, Culzean Castle in Ayrshire stands dramatically on a cliff top with spectacular views over the sea. Combine this with a little history and a tour around the castle.

If you need a few ideas, our team is always on hand to offer suggestions. So contact us today and we will happily help to plan your mum’s perfect Mother's Day.
