There is no place like Bovey Castle to experience the magic of a country house Christmas.
The castle is, with the hotel, transformed into a festive hideaway. Plump armchairs nestle against tables laden with walnuts and oranges, rooms are illuminated by spectacular Christmas trees and sparkling decorations.
Arrive for lunch and then get into the Christmas spirit with a host of festive activities, including a Christmas country fair, cider & sloe gin making, Bovey rangers' activities and a playroom for the little ones.
Afternoon tea will be served in the Cathedral Room accompanied by carol singing. The castle also offers a children's high tea in Smith's Brasserie for the little ones.
Your evening includes welcome drinks and a candlelit dinner, followed by the opportunity to attend Midnight Mass at the local church.
After breakfast, the excitement mounts as Father Christmas arrives at Bovey Castle.
In the morning take part in the exciting scavenger hunt, then enjoy some fresh air and beautiful scenery with a guided walk.
The revelry begins with a drinks reception, followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western Restaurant.
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the Queen's Speech, tea and mince pies. A buffet will be served in the Great Western Restaurant during the evening.
Once the children are tucked up in bed, sit and listen to the storyteller weave some tales in front of the fire.
After brunch, sign up for the golf tournament or join the castle team for a guided walk. The castle's much loved ferret racing competition is a firm favourite, as is the 'nearest the pin' golf competition, served with hot chocolate and mulled wine on the south terrace. Afternoon tea will also be served in the Cathedral Room.
The castle's storyteller will keep the children entertained, followed by high tea and a festive movie.
Finish up your day with a 5-course dinner and entertainment in the Great Western Restaurant.
Bovey ranger activities and the playroom are also available all day for the little ones.
A full English breakfast will be served before you are bid a fond farewell.
